May 03, 2019 After some time, I realized that the problem is in the RAM or with its connection with the processor. I have two 4Gb sticks, and 4 slots on the motherboard. The first two closest to the processor do not work. And the other two are working, the computer is working properly, but only in single-channel mode. On Ryzen 3600 they work in slots 1 and 2 counting from the CPU, but inserting RAM into another slots like 2 and 4 for dual channel operation causes 3 long beeps - that is, a problem with RAM. Please ask me, I will provide more information. I think I am not the first to have this problem and the new Ryzen have a big memory compability problem. I#x27;ve done 3 complete RAM tests and they#x27;ve all passed with no errors. So I#x27;m thinking strangely something has happened to make my 4th slot just go. Other things I#x27;ve tried are clearing CMOS and updating to newest bios. Wiped all OC#x27;ing. Cleaned all ram slots. Ran tests on all ram, CPU and GPU.

I recently completed a system build and installed Windows 10 pro with 2 8GB DDR4 3000MHz RAM sticks. The BIOS and OS showed I had 16GB of RAM installed. A month later I purchased 2 more 8GB sticks with the exact same specs and manufacturer 2x8GB Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3000MHz. The Motherboard is an MSI x299 Raider with an i7-7800x 6-Core CPU. Tried the original RAM and that did not work either in both slots when it was working fine minutes before. I just have tried 20 different times with both RAM sticks, new with the back cover off and the computer chimes and turns on, but does not advance because the RAM is not being recognized.

Fill your slots starting with the largest density and working to the smallest put the largest module in slot 0, and the second largest in slot 1, and so on. It does not sound like a problem with the memory itself. If that was the case, one or both modules would not work in any slot at all. Since both modules seem to run just fine in the channel B slots, it is mot likely an issue with CPU or MB of which bent pins is the most common one. After some fiddling with the ram modules, it sometimes managed to start beeping a couple times before it starts turning off and on. It turns out that having anything in the B1 or B2 ram slots causes this problem. Moving the RAM slots from A2 B2 to A2 A1 results in a stable system with both ram modules recognized and working properly.

Checked to see if it was possible to have any bent cpu pins and nothing bent. Checked the dimm slots with all sticks one at a time. All sticks work in slots B1 and B2 but none of them work in A1 and A2. I now have 8gb in single channel as supposed to 16gb in dual channel. In effect I have 1/2 the speed and 1/2 the memory capacity.
